Nuwara Eliya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka, situated 1,868 metres above sea level. This city was once a summer retreat for the British colonialists.  Nuwara Eliya is nicknamed 'Little England' Because of the town's striking similarities to England's architecture, gardens, and climate.  The area is well known for its tea plantations which produce some of the finest teas in the world. The rolling hills covered in tea bushes offer breathtaking views, and the aroma of freshly brewed tea fills the air. You can tour the tea estates and a tea factory to learn about the tea-making process, from plucking the leaves to the final packaging, and even taste some of the teas.
