Kandy is a city that has a rich and proud history, and it is located in the central province of Sri Lanka. Main attraction of the Kandy is the Temple of the Tooth where one of Lord Buddha's tooth is being kept.  The Temple of the Tooth is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is widely regarded as one of the most important Buddhist temples in existence. A dress code applies for entering the temple. Another main tourist spot is Kandy Lake.  Kandy Lake is a man-made lake that was constructed in 1807. Nuwara Eliya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka, situated 1,868 metres above sea level. This city was once a summer retreat for the British colonialists.  Nuwara Eliya is nicknamed 'Little England' Because of the town's striking similarities to England's architecture, gardens, and climate.  The area is well known for its tea plantations which produce some of the finest teas in the world. The rolling hills covered in tea bushes offer breathtaking views, and the aroma of freshly brewed tea fills the air. You can tour the tea estates and a tea factory to learn about the tea-making process, from plucking the leaves to the final packaging, and even taste some of the teas.

Hiking, camping, and golfing are just some of the activities that can be enjoyed to the fullest in Nuwara Eliya, thanks to the cool climate and lush greenery. Nuwara Eliya is a must-see destination for anyone travelling to Sri Lanka for a truly unique experience due to its remarkable history, breathtaking scenery, and enchanting atmosphere.

Visit to Seethadevi Temple, Seetha Eliya

The stream that runs from the hill catered to the needs of Shri Seethadevi during her stay at Ashok Vatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. About a century ago, three idols were discovered in the stream, one of which was that of Seetha. It is believed that the idols have been worshipped at this spot for centuries.

Now there is the temple for Lord Rama, Shri Seethadevi, Shri Luxshmana, and Shri Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that footprints akin to Lord Hanuman's are found by this river, and some are of small size and some are of large size, which tells us of the immense powers of hanuman transforming himself into any size.
